Katie Coakley began her public relations career at Breckenridge Ski Resort in Breckenridge, Colorado. This position not only allowed her to develop her event management, message development and crisis communication skills, but it also provided the opportunity to work with media on the local, state and national arena including MTV, NBC and the Weather Channel. Katie worked with the entire Vail Resorts team to shape the image of Breckenridge Ski Resort, helping to increase skier visits through targeted communications efforts. Additionally, she became well-versed in crisis communications through experience at the high-profile mountain resort.
Katie joined Peeples Ink PR, a Vail, Colorado based strategic communications company specializing in resort, lifestyle, and business communications, in 2006. Working in an agency setting allowed her to work with a wide variety of clients and experience all aspects of the business including developing goals and strategy, executing plans and reporting results in quantifiable terms. From introducing a new line of organic frozen chicken snacks to re-launching an award-winning spa with a $12 million renovation, Katie worked one-on-one with clients to provide strategies and tactics to achieve long and short term goals.
In January 2011, Katie established Katydid PR. She provides contract work to several public relations firms as well as working one-on-one with individual clients. Whether it's a standup paddleboard company or culinary festival, the end product is the same: positive results.
